Eckert was travelling to Clarence, near Buffalo, to celebrate what would have been her husband, Sean Rooney's, 58th birthday.
Eckert was due to attend the presentation of a scholarship in Rooney's name at the school where they met.

The 74-seat Colgan Air flight crashed, killing 50 people, yesterday morning.

'She's with him now'
Eckert's relatives believe she was one of the victims of the crash. "We know she was on that plane," said her sister Sue. "And now she's with him."
The aircraft, which was operating under Continental Airlines flight number 3407, was carrying 44 passengers and 4 members of crew when it crashed in a home. None of those on board survived, and one person on the ground died.
WTC attack
Rooney was working in New York's World Trade Centre when terrorists flew two planes into the twin towers.
He left a message on his wife's voicemail saying, "There has been an explosion in World Trade One that's the other building. It looks like a plane struck it. It's on fire at about the 90th floor. And it's, it's it's horrible. Bye."
