Just days before their divorce, 32-year-old Brent Mott killed his wife Kate, Daily Express reported on Thursday.
Brent attempted to cover up the killing by staging a car accident. He took Kate's body to a remote country lane and placed it in the driver's seat before shattering the windscreen to suggest a crash.
A postmortem examination showed that Kate was strangled and died before she was dumped in the family car in Southport, Merseyside.
Mott had even raped her during a confrontation when their two children were asleep. The couple hadn't had sex for 18 months.
He claimed it was consensual and described it as a 'last fling'.
A judge, however, said that Kate would "never have agreed".
"You (Brent) murdered her for sex. It was done in your heightened sexual frustration borne out of your own twisted obsession toward sex," a justice official was quoted as saying.
