US car dealer to give away an AK-47 with every purchase in Aug; not the first time

Gun-loving truck drivers in the US have been given a new incentive to upgrade their vehicle a free AK-47 with every pick-up purchased.

During August, all sales at Max Motors will be accompanied by a voucher for a complimentary semi-automatic weapon, owner Mark Muller (49) announced.

It isn't the first time the dealership which goes by the slogan 'Guns, God, Guts and American Pick-Up Trucks' has run such a promotion.

Last year, free handg- uns saw the dealership sell an extra 35 cars in a month.

Muller sees this as a healthy way to encourage sales and ensure his countrymen are protected.

He said, "There are a bunch of maggots out there and not protecting yourself is highly irresponsible... So, I thought it was a good promotion."

It is a creed by which Muller lives his life he too is a passionate gun owner. "I've got them all. AKs, AR-15s, shotguns, handguns, everything," he said.

"I do not carry a gun because I'm evil. I carry a gun because I have lived long enough to see evil. Guns are a great equaliser."

He said the reaction to the campaign was overwhelmingly positive. "One customer put in an order for seven trucks, but told us, 'I do not need seven AK-47s'. I'm letting him choose other guns."

However, the responses left on the company's website have been mixed.
