The victim's colleagues held an hour-long strike at the Beijing Tongren Hospital to demand better and safer working environment, reported Shanghai Daily.
Xu Wen, 43, was in stable condition after the nine-hour surgery for injuries suffered on both her arms, left leg and the back after throat cancer patient Wang attacked her with a kitchen knife.
Wang has been arrested.
He attacked Xu for her unsuccessful surgery to remove his laryngeal cancer in 2006, the media report said.
Wang said in a blog that the surgery failed and he lost his speech and sense of smell. He claimed that he was a disabled man and he wanted to take revenge on Xu.
