While Ibrahim himself could not attend the wedding and is reported to be residing in Dongri, the hub of D Company activity, Dawood made sure no stones were left unturned at the wedding.
The high-profile wedding held at Hotel Park Star in Karachi was well attended by several members from the D gang. The wedding bash has been on since the last three days and was also attended by Chota Shakeel, regarded as one of the key players of Dawood's gang. It is well known and has been reported that the Pak ISI and the military force are close to the D gang. As proof, members of both, Pak ISI and the Pakistan military showed up inu00a0 huge numbers at the wedding.
Ibrahim, the bride's father was deported a year ago from Dubai, but was cleared of all cases. The rest of Ibrahim's family continued to reside in Karachi after he was deported.
The news of the wedding spread in Dongri -- Dawood's younger sister Haseena Parkar and many other D associates celebrated the wedding here in Mumbai.
This is the second big bash within the Dawood family. The last one was five years ago, when Dawood's daughter tied the knot with former Pakistan cricketer Javed Miandad's son Junaid in Dubai.
"The wedding was graced by few bureaucrats and senior officers from the military and Inter State Intelligence (ISI)," said a senior intelligence official. Intelligence officials said this is another strong indication that Dawood is currently based in Pakistan. High-tech security gadgets and intensive screening of guests were conducted at the venue. "The guest list was carefully drawn out," say sources.
