Sulieman Al Hourani, a 36-year-old doctor, was to remove a cyst from the organ in a routine operation. Nurses said that when Al Hourani realised the mistake, he held the gonad in his hand looking surprised.
"The staff's impression was that he had done it by accident," The Sun quoted Sarah Pritchard, counsel for the General Medical Council, as saying.
Al Hourani was allowed to continue working at Fairfield Hospital in Bury, Lancs.
The Jordanian doctor was dismissed only after being accused of stealing two boxes of a painkiller.
The panel was told Al Hourani has now returned home to practise medicine at the University of Jordan.
