Finnish man to build Titanic that won't sink

Businessman Toivo Sukari has unveiled plans to build a life-size copy of the Titanic in the village of Kiiminki in northern Finland, to attract tourists.

This replica of the ship that sank in April 1912 will house a hotel and several restaurants. It'll be built next to a

new shopping centre Sukari is coming up.

Sukari, who already owns a furniture store chain and a shopping centre n the village, said, "Everybody in Europe knows the Titanic.

There are no tourist attractions in the Oulu region and I think it could attract tourists from abroad," said the businessman.

Sukari added that he aims at making his ship as true to the original as possible. The estimated cost is between
Rs 200 and 207 crore. The new mall and the Titanic are expected to be open to visitors from November 2011.

As this ship will remain only on land, chances of it meeting the same fate, as its namesake are, of course, nil.
