A five-year-old girl, who went missing for a month in Pakistan's port city Karachi, has been found raped and murdered - a month after the bodies of five minor girls were found, similarly abducted, raped and then killed.

The girl's body was found in an under-construction building in Safoora Goth area Saturday. She was tortured, sexually assaulted and then strangled over two weeks ago, Dawn News reported Sunday. The incident sparked anger among residents, who criticised the police for failing to curb the frequent kidnappings, particularly of minor girls.
Police said the girl went missing May 1 while she was playing near her home with other children. Investigators said the body had lain in the building for more than 20 days and her father identified her only from her clothes. The family of the kidnapped girl are residents of Gulshan-i-Iqbal area, from where the bodies of the five minor girls were found. Investigators said Saturday's incident did not seem different from the previous ones. The body bore multiple marks of torture and sexual assault.
