Jacintha Saldanha's family told of their devastation, with her 14-year-old daughter starting a Facebook page to pay tribute to her mother. "I miss you, I loveeee you," she wrote.
Saldanha’s husband, accountant Benedict Barboza, who also has a son Junal (16), told of his love for the ‘committed Christian’ who put the prank call through to the Duchess of Cambridge's ward at the King Edward VII's Hospital in London last week. “I am devastated with the tragic loss of my beloved wife Jacintha in tragic circumstances,” he wrote on Facebook. “She will be laid to rest in Shirva, India.”

Benedict’s mother Carmine said her son had told her about Jacintha’s death in a phone call on Friday night. Speaking from her home in Udupi, Karnataka, she said: “We got a call last night from Benedict informing us that Jacintha had died. He was crying and couldn’t speak much. Jacintha was a very caring woman. We cannot believe what has happened.”
Jacintha’s sister-in-law Irene from Shirva said, “We were shocked to hear from her husband (Benedict Barboza) that Jacintha was no more. He did not tell us that she committed suicide. It is hard to believe Jacintha could commit suicide as she was not the type of woman to do it.”u00a0
