Tokyo: Japanese women have warned men that if they vote for governor candidate Yoichi Masuzoe, who had claimed in 1989 that menstruation makes women unfit for government, then they could say goodbye to sex.

A new campaign titled “The association of women who will not have sex with men who vote for Masuzoe” on Twitter has collected almost 3,000 followers since it launched last week.

In the profile, the unidentified founders have claimed that they stood up to prevent Masuzoe, who makes such insulting remarks against women, from taking over.

Masuzoe, 65, had told a men’s magazine at that time that women are not normal when they are having their periods and one can’t possibly let them make critical decisions about the country during menstruation.
