In the first such happening, the man was blown off the ground as he was flying a phoenix-shaped 40 metres long and 30 metres wide gigantic kite at a festival in China's Jiangsu province, the 'Global Times' said.
The man was carried nearly seven metres off the ground and hung there for several minutes as fellow fliers gaped at him stunned.
It was finally an old man who managed to tie the rope to a pole to haul back the man and the kite back to the ground with help of others.
