The gruesome act was described in the court as 'the worst case' of its type.
Judge Meryl Sexton said that she would hear the man's stepson - who became his victim at the age of 10 - plead guilty to sexual offences committed by him in later years.
"That is your dreadful legacy," News.com.au quoted Sexton as telling the man.
The man, known only as JPB to protect the identity of his victims, was sentenced to a maximum 18 years for 35 charges of incest, gross indecency and indecent assault against three step-children and one biological child between 1970 and 1984.
JPB, now 67, had raped the children from as young as age seven and eight, assaulting every child on a nightly or routine basis.
He also forced at least one child to participate in sexual activities involving him and his wife, the mother of their child and step-children.
"They are probably the worst examples of gross indecency I have seen in all the years I have been dealing with sexual offences" Sexton said.
