The man from Palmerston North, around 400 km from Auckland, has been convicted on 21 sex and child cruelty charges, including three indecent assaults and three rapes, the New Zealand Herald reported.
The offences occurred over a 27-year period ending in 1990, and took place in eight North Island towns.
