Nelson Mandela's lifelong friend has said that the ailing 94- year- old is determined to fight for his survival
George Bizos, Mandela’s lawyer, said he believes he still wants to live, despite his health difficulties.

The South African former leader was admitted to hospital on Wednesday night suffering from a recurring lung infection.
“ I think that he has always had confidence in members of the ( health) profession and he has the love and care of ( his wife) Graca and members of his family and a few of his friends that go to him from time to time. I think he enjoys that and would like to continue.” He said he was planning to visit Mandela — either in hospital or at his home if he is discharged – “ in the next day or so”. Meanwhile, Mandela is in ‘ good spirits’ and making gradual progress as he is treated in hospital, officials have said.
The 94- year- old ate a full breakfast last morning, according to the office of current president Jacob Zuma.
