The Australian military has been hit by another sexual assault scandal, with a woman claiming that she was sexually assaulted and thrown out naked after being raped when she was a teenage navy cook

The woman claimed she was sexually abused and humiliated at HMAS Cerberus, the Navy''s premier training establishment, in Victoria back in the mid-1990s.

The woman said three men sexually assaulted her while others watched. She said she was dragged into a room and attacked, before being thrown out naked, the Herald Sun reports.

She said two naval police coxswains later heard her case, but she was forced to say that the sex was consensual. A short time later, the woman was charged with sexual misconduct and fined.

Two male defense force personnel joined the woman in making assault claims - one of being beaten and raped, and the other of being brutally bashed.

Their stories were aired on a news program, which claimed that all the complaints of assault had been swept under the rug by Australian Defense Force officials.

A law firm DLA Piper has been commissioned by the government to collate and assess abuse allegations.

Many allegations of abuse have surfaced till date from former defense force members after they were invited to lodge accounts of past misconduct.
