The renowned Art Gallery of New South Wales (AGNSW) in Australia will reportedly open with 21 repetitions of the sacred gayatri mantra followed by chants of hari aum on three Fridays and Saturdays in January.

Before the Gallery is open to the public, the atmosphere of temple worship in India will be recreated through music and chants on Fridays and Saturdays from January eight to 23.

The session will begin with the performance of a prayer to the universal mother energy.

This will be accompanied by musical instruments associated with meditation, including the harmonium, tanpura, conch shell, prayer bowl, Indian bell (ghanti) and harp, add reports.

The gallery is currently hosting an exhibition till January 26 called 'Garden and cosmos: the royal paintings of Jodhpur', which includes many Hinduism subjects, like illustrations from the Ramcharitmanas.

The gallery will also hold a rangoli demonstration on January 23 and 24. Hindus have commended AGNSW for efforts to educate the world about Hinduism.
