Queen Elizabeth's grandson Harry, 33, currently fifth-in-line to the British throne, and Markle, 36, best known for her role in the US TV legal drama 'Suits', got engaged earlier this month. "Prince Harry has informed Her Majesty The Queen and other close members of his family. Prince Harry has also sought and received the blessing of Ms Markle's parents," a statement issued by Clarence House, Prince Charles' official London residence, said.

A spokesman for Buckingham Palace said the queen, who had to give her assent for the union, and her husband Prince Philip were delighted. The wedding is likely to attract huge attention across the globe. Estimates suggested a global television and online audience of 2.4 billion people tuned in for the glittering wedding ceremony for Harry's elder brother William and his wife Kate Middleton in 2011."We are very excited for Harry and Meghan," William and Kate said in a statement. "It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are."
