Seeking to cash in on the 'Slumdog Millionaire' hype, the co-producers of the film are planning a reality TV show set in Mumbai slums that will feature super-rich people posing as commoners and visiting poor families for charity.

Titled 'Secret Slumdog Millionaire,' the show that is a spin-off of the Secret Millionaire series, will make rich people witness real poverty to help poverty-stricken families in Mumbai.

Conceptualised by Celador, which co-produced the film and television show 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?' the new series will be broadcast as soon as possible to cash in on the enormous popularity of the movie.

"It is a fantastic idea. Secret Millionaire has already been well received but this looks like it could be even better," a television insider was quoted as saying by the Sunday Express.

"The millionaires who sign up will see real poverty in Mumbai and it is going to be very moving when they reveal their identity and offer these people help," he said.

The Secret Millionaire series that originated in the UK is a dramatic show that takes some of the wealthiest persons away from their lavish lifestyles and places them undercover in impoverished neighbourhoods.

"The producers are bracing themselves against claims that they are cashing in on poverty but the bottom line is they will actually be helping people as well as making great television," the insider said.
