Kate Middleton's childhood home in Bradfield Southend was bought for ufffd4,85,000 (Rs 3.55 crore) by teacher Emma Appleby and her partner Tom Wyatt.
The final price was ufffd10,000 less than auctioneer Dudley Singleton had predicted but well above the undisclosed reserve price.
The four-bedroom house has a guide price of Rs 3.62 crore
Emma, a mum of one with another child on the way is a Bradfield College science teacher while Tom, teaches history at Elstree School. They currently live in Ashampstead.
Emma, who was surrounded by flashing cameras as the hammer went down said, "The press attention isn't really my cup of tea but I am really looking forward to moving in. We just love the property and that was our maximum price."
She denied the 'Middleton Factor' was the reason for their decision. The late Victorian four-bedroom house in Bradfield, Berkshire, had a guide price of ufffd4,95,000 (Rs 3.62 crore).
It was bought by Kate Middleton's parents, Michael and Carole, in 1979 when they worked for British Airways.
