According to Houston Chronicle, police in Galveston arrested 19-year-old Lyle Monroe Bensley last weekend on charges of burglary with intent to commit assault.
The victim luckily escaped with minor injuries and called the police, who arrested the "needed to feed" vampire in the parking lot of the apartment complex.
"He was begging us to restrain him because he didn't want to kill us," Fox News quoted Galveston Officer Daniel Erickson as saying.
"He said he needed to feed.
"I'm a vampire and I've been alive for over 500 years," Bensley reportedly told the police.
The Emergency medical personnel have said that the suspect did not appear to be under the influence of drugs, with the authorities accordingly placing a mental health hold on Bensley and setting his bond at 40,000 dollars.
