Teen couple suffocates after having sex in car

Two young lovers suffocated when they fell asleep after a late night sex session in their car leaving the engine running to keep them warm.

Tragic teenage couple Reinhard Wallecker (18) and Stefanie Tanzer (17) had slipped into the garage at Wallecker's family home after finding his parents were in the house.

But as temperatures plummeted to -15u00b0C, Wallecker is believed to have turned the engine and heater on in his Mazda 323 to warm them up.

They were found the next morning when Tanzer's father dad battered down the door of the garage in Ternitz, Austria, after searching for his daughter.

He discovered the young couple suffering from carbon-monoxide poisoning and desperately tried to resuscitate the pair while waiting for an ambulance.

It is the second death of young lovers killed after parking their car and leaving the engine running to keep warm.

Not the first time

A 21-year-old Austrian waitress was found dead lying in the arms of a work colleague parked at the hotel where they were employed at the famous ski resort of Obergurgl.

The car was parked in a space surrounded by a wall of snow, which prevented the deadly carbon monoxide gas from dispersing and which was then sucked back in through the heating
system.

Police say they are treating the deaths as an accident. Relatives had reportedly warned the Ternitz couple about the danger of leaving the car's engine running in a closed garage.

"It is just so tragic. Everyone here knew how in love they were," said one neighbour.
