More than 14,000 people gathered on Wednesday to lay out on yoga mats and find their inner peace to celebrate the longest — and possibly hottest - day of the year with the summer solstice.

Those who joined the enormous gathering were challenged to block out the noise and congestion of one of the world’s most famous intersections and focus on their tranquility amid heat that was forecast to break records.
