Dahi Handi is a lively Hindu festival celebrated a day after Janmashtami, which marks the birth of Lord Krishna. The festival's name comes from 'Dahi,' meaning 'curd,' and 'Handi,' meaning 'earthen pot.' During Dahi Handi, a pot filled with curd, butter, and other dairy products is hung high in the air. People form human pyramids to try to reach and break the pot, just as young Krishna would have done to get to the butter he loved.
