PM Modi on 27th February, met German singer Cassandra Mae Spittsman and her mother in Tamil Nadu's Palladam. The German singer is known for singing songs, especially devotional ones in several Indian languages. While meeting PM Modi on Tuesday, she sang Achyutam Keshavam and a Tamil song as well. Previously, in one of his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ episodes, PM Modi had appreciated the singer’s passion for Indian music and culture. He was also seen praising her performance in the viral clip. S. Jaishankar attended the Munich Security Conference from 16-18 February in Germany. During his visit, the external affairs minister defended India's long term standing ties with Russia. External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar, while speaking at the Munich Security Conference on February 17, affirmed India’s strong ties with Western countries in Munich. He said, “I think, it's important today to make a distinction, between being non-West and anti-West, I would not only characterise India as a country, which is non-West but which has an extremely strong relation with the Western countries, getting better by the days.” In his speech, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Saturday reaffirmed India's stand and commitment to buy Russian oil despite respective sanctions on Moscow amid the military conflict with Ukraine, saying it should not be a problem for others.

PM Narendra Modi on July 15 met UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi. During the joint conference, PM Modi affirmed his wish to achieve a ‘landmark’ USD 100 billion trade with UAE before G20. “Last year, we signed Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement. The historic agreement within three months would not have been possible without your cooperation and commitment. For that, I cannot thank you enough. Our bilateral trade has grown by 20 per cent. For the first time, we have achieved USD 85 billion in trade. Soon we will achieve the target of USD 100 billion. UAE is at the 4th rank among nations investing in India, said the Prime Minister. Earlier in the day, UAE President was also seen sharing a ‘friendship band’ with PM Modi. PM Narendra Modi also received a ceremonial welcome as he came to meet UAE President.
