15 September,2024 03:46 PM ISTOn 15th September, Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated six new Vande Bharat Express trains for Jharkhand, Odisha, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh from Ranchi. The trains will operate on the Tatanagar-Patna, Brahmapur-Tatanagar, Rourkela-Howrah, Deoghar-Varanasi, Bhagalpur-Howrah, and Gaya-Howrah routes. The initial plan was for the PM to flag off the trains from Tatanagar; however, poor visibility and adverse weather conditions prevented his chopper from taking off. Despite this, the launch proceeded virtually. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar were present at Tatanagar station for the event. The Prime Minister's Office stated that these new Vande Bharat trains will enhance connectivity and provide significant benefits to regular commuters, professionals, business people, and students across the regions.
15 September,2024 01:16 PM IST2 people were killed and over 15 people were injured when 18 coaches of the Howrah-CSMT Express derailed near Chakradharpur in Jharkhand on 30th July. The incident occurred around 3:45 am between Rajkharsawan West Outer and Barabamboo. Emergency response teams, including Accident Relief Medical Equipment (ARME) and Additional Divisional Railway Managers, quickly arrived on-site to assist. The injured people in the Howrah-Mumbai train tragedy received first aid from railway medical staff before being transferred to Chakradharpur for further treatment. Swapnil Dhanraj Nila, the CRPO central Railway, informed that all the injured people have been taken to the nearby hospital. Train Manager Md. Rehan narrated the entire incident. The train derailment lead to the cancellation of five trains and the short termination of four others. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee criticized the central government for its handling of train safety, questioning if there would ever be an end to these accidents. The cause of the derailment is still under investigation.

01 March,2024 04:05 PM ISTA tragic train accident took place in Jharkhand's Jamtara on 28th February evening as a passenger train ran over 2 passengers at the Kalajharia railway station killing both of them. The Eastern Railway said the victims were walking on the track when they were run over by the Jhajha-Asansol Memu passenger train. Initial reports suggested the persons killed were passengers of Anga Express, running parallel to Memu passenger train, which stopped due to a fire call. The reports claimed that passengers deboarded the train and were run over the Memu train.According to the railway. Officials, the incident occurred at 7 pm and only two persons were killed.
