Vande Bharat Trains: 3 new trains launched by PM Modi

On 31st August, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off three new Vande Bharat trains. These trains will improve connectivity across various cities of Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Speaking on the occasion, PM Modi said, "Today, from the north to the south, another chapter is being added to the country's journey of development. The expansion of Vande Bharat trains reflects our nation's progress towards the goal of a developed India with modernity and speed. These trains have provided connectivity to important religious places in the country. The Temple City of Madurai is now directly connected to the IT City of Bengaluru via Vande Bharat. This train will also prove beneficial for pilgrims," reported ANI.

43 peacocks found dead in Madurai, Tamil Nadu

As many as 43 peacocks were found dead on the outskirts of Madurai in Tamil Nadu. Among the 43 peacocks, 34 were female and 9 were male birds. Forest officials who reached the spot said that suspect poisoning could be the cause of the deaths. S Arumugam, the Range Officer at Madurai Wildlife Range, said "Peacocks may have consumed paddy grains laced with poison which resulted in the deaths. An investigation is underway and actions will be taken after we get the post-mortem reports."
