On 3rd August, Mumbai witnessed severe rainfall which led to massive waterlogging and traffic snarls across the city. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, on July 25, directed Raigad's collector to aid people affected by heavy rainfall and floods. He urged everyone to avoid unnecessary travel due to water on roads and in homes in Pune. With Khadakwasla Dam and surrounding areas experiencing heavy rain, he assured readiness with NDRF, SDRF, and Army teams on standby. Due to heavy Mumbai rains, the city faces an 'orange' alert, and efforts include 222 water pumps to clear flooded areas. The weather department warned of gusty winds up to 50-60 kmph alongside the heavy rains. Temperatures were moderate, ranging from 24 to 29 degrees Celsius. Mumbai was issued a yellow warning for heavy showers on the 25th of July while an orange alert was issued for Palghar, Thane, Raigad, Satara, Ratnagiri, and Pune. Sindhudurg in the Konkan region also remained on yellow alert. The situation prompted authorities to advise caution and preparedness across the affected areas.
