Kalyan Police have arrested two brothers who had been absconding since 2016 in an attempted murder case after nine years on the run. Acting on intelligence inputs, the Crime Branch nabbed them from Kalher village. Investigation in the case is ongoing

The Thalassery Additional District and Sessions Court also imposed a fine of Rs 1.40 lakh on each convict. The court awarded cumulative sentences totalling 35 years under four sections of law, to run concurrently, in addition to life imprisonment
