In a tragic incident, a 38-year-old engineer from Palava City in Dombivli took his own life by jumping off the Atal Setu bridge. The victim, identified as Srinivas Karuturi, reportedly faced financial difficulties, as per his wife`s statement to the police. Srinivas, who worked as an engineer in a private firm, drove his Tata Nexon car to the bridge and stopped there before jumping off around 12:35 pm on July 24. Police have initiated a search operation to recover his body, with coastal guards and local fishermen aiding in the effort. Srinivas` identity was confirmed through his Aadhaar card found in his wallet inside the parked car, which also contained an identity card from a construction firm where he previously worked. This incident follows a similar tragedy on July 18, when a businessman from Ghatkopar ended his life by jumping off the Bandra-Worli Sea Link after video calling his son to inform him of his intentions. His body was later found after a three hour search operation carried out by fire brigade.
