Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has filed his nomination to contest from the Baramati assembly seat. This election will see him facing off against his nephew, Yugendra Pawar, who is the grandson of Sharad Pawar. Yugendra is running as a candidate for the NCP-SP alliance. This matchup marks another Pawar versus Pawar contest, following a recent election where Supriya Sule, Sharad Pawar`s daughter, defeated Sunetra Pawar, Ajit Pawar`s wife. Ajit Pawar split from the NCP in June 2023. When asked about competing against his uncle, Yugendra expressed his sadness and said it was quite unfortunate to be in this situation, as Ajit Pawar has previously won this seat seven times.

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath addressed a public rally in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh on January 01 where he said that India’s respect has increased in the global scenario as a new India is visible to the world. Speaking further, he said that earlier, those who hesitated to take the name of Ayodhya are now saying that they will surely go to the consecration ceremony of the temple if they get an invitation. He also said that after January 22, people who will be visiting Ayodhya Ram Mandir will remember the ‘treta yuga’. In addition, he said that now in the current times, the solution to all the problems is going to be found through dialogue and not through conflict.
