The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has officially confirmed that data from the black boxes of the ill-fated Air India Flight AI-171 has been successfully recovered. As per a circular issued by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), both the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) and Flight Data Recorder (FDR) were retrieved from the crash site in Ahmedabad and transported under high security to Delhi. The data extraction process began on June 24 at the AAIB Lab in the presence of Indian and US experts from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). The memory modules have been accessed, and analysis is now underway to reconstruct the chain of events leading to the tragic crash on June 13, 2025.
