In an interview with a Hindi television news channel on May 7, Ram Gopal Yadav, termed the Ram Temple a ‘bekar Mandir’ (flawed and useless temple), adding that it was not built in accordance with Vastu. Hitting back at the Samajwadi Party leader, Smriti Irani said, "We all know that they oppose Ram and Sanatan. The person who has Ram and Gopal in his name doesn’t understand the greatness of the lord; this can insight into anger among the people. As a Ram devotee, I want to tell him that in this election the people will give a reply to his anti-Sanatan alliance...”

Union Rural Development Minister Giriraj Singh on December 11 appealed to Hindu brothers to consume Jhatka meat and stop the consumption of halal meat. Speaking to ANI, he said, “I have said that I respect my Muslim brothers. They are so committed to their religion that they only consume halal meat. To protect and respect your religion, I request my Hindu brothers to stop consuming halal meat and instead only consume jhatka meat.” While speaking over Union Minister Giriraj Singh's Jhatka Meat statement, Congress leader Udit Raj said that they just do Hindu-Muslim for vote bank and the Constitution gives freedom to eat and dress so people shouldn’t be listening to such advice.
