A team led by chief controller of explosives Sudarshan Kamal on Monday inspected the site of Kollam temple fire tragedy to find out the reason of the fire. Sudarshan Kamal said people concerned have flouted many rules.

As many as seven officials, including Puttingal temple's president, secretary and treasurer, surrendered before the Crime Branch Authorities earlier today in connection to the massive inferno at the Puttingal temple in Kerala's Kollam district killing over 100 people.

In a bizarre response, Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar on Saturday compared the ban on the use of fire crackers in Kollam, Kerala to that of a pen. He said that if a child uses a pen to injure the eye of a friend, then banning the pen is not a solution.
