The Kallazhagar Chithirai Festival is currently being celebrated in Madurai. As the final and most important part of this world-famous festival, Lord Kallazhagar will enter the Vaigai River. The Kallazhagar Temple, located at the foothills of the Alagar Hills in Thirumaliruncholai – also called Southern Tirupati and one of the 108 sacred Vaishnavite sites – is the center of the celebrations.
