Mumbai was left paralyzed after receiving nearly 200 mm rainfall in just six hours on August 19. Streets turned into rivers, traffic came to a crawl, and train services were suspended as floodwaters wreaked havoc across the city. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reviewed the situation with the disaster management department, warning that the next 48 hours will be crucial for Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg, which remain on high alert.

Bollywood actor Dino Morea and his brother Santino were questioned by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Mumbai Police in connection with the alleged Rs 65-crore Mithi River desilting scam. This is the second time in three days that the actor has been summoned by the EOW. The brothers appeared at the Mumbai Police Commissioner’s office, where their statements were recorded.
