A massive search operation has been launched by security forces in the dense Reasi forest area after receiving specific intelligence inputs indicating suspicious movement. Acting swiftly on the alert, teams have been deployed to thoroughly comb the region to prevent any potential security threat. Meanwhile, in a separate but simultaneous operation, an encounter has broken out in the Nader area of Tral in Awantipora. Security personnel have cordoned off the region and launched a large-scale manhunt to flush out hiding militants. Three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in the Shukroo forest area of Keller in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on May 13. Security forces recovered AK-47 rifles, grenades, Indian identity cards, and cash from the slain terrorists after the Shopian encounter. The joint operation was carried out by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police after intelligence inputs about militant presence in the region
