Sonu Sood visited the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala with his family to offer prayers before beginning work on his upcoming film Nandi. Marking his return to the temple after 25 years, the visit held special significance as the actor is set to direct and star in the new project.

A stampede occurred at the Tirupati Temple on January 8, causing the deaths of at least six people and injuring many others. The incident happened near Vishnu Niwasam, close to the Tirumala Srivari Vaikuntha Dwara ticketing counter, during the distribution of `darshan` tokens. Large crowds of devotees had gathered to collect tokens, and by the end of the day, overcrowding led to the tragic stampede. The Chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) confirmed that overcrowding was the cause. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu visited the site on January 9. The families of the victims are mourning their loss, while authorities are investigating the incident
