Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Asif, who was released from a UK jail on Thursday after serving a sentence for the infamous spot-fixing scam at Lord's in 2010, described his fellow player Salman Butt as a lonely man who was anxiously waiting to be released from prison after completing his 30-month sentence.
“Salman and I were sharing the same room for three months in prison and he wished me good luck on the day of my release,” Asif was quoted as saying by the Dawn newspaper.u00a0

“But he (Salman) is a lonely man and looked very depressed on the day of my release. He has been quite miserable at times and is anxiously awaiting his release,” he added.
