According to a report in Cricinfo, an American entrepreneur, Jay Mir, president and CEO of American Sports And Entertainment Group Inc, has drawn up plans for a six-team American Premier League, an international T20 tourney, to be staged in October in Staten Island, New York.
The APL will be based on similar lines to the IPL using a franchise and auction system. The 32-year-old Mir hopes to have six international sides Premium Pakistan, Premium Indians, Premium West Indies, Premium World and Premium America the final side will constitute of the best talent from cricket fans who live in the USA.
Mir's first recruitment targets have been Pakistan's rebel players from the ICL.
