According to the Sydney Morning Herald, many want players who are not performing to be dropped, including captain Ricky Ponting. Others said they longed for the return of legends like Glenn McGrath, Adam Gilchrist and Shane Warne.
Even Warne - who led Australia to a famous victory in the last Adelaide Ashes test in 2006 - tweeted that England deserved their crushing win.
"Well the heavens haven't opened and England have outplayed Australia in all depts ... Well done to them they deserved there victory !!!" he wrote this morning.
For comedian Dave Hughes, watching Australia capitulate so rapidly this morning was too much.
"The only thing the Aussie bowlers are worse at than batting is bowling," he tweeted.
Many, many tweeters called for middle-order batsman Marcus North to be sacked, along with spinner Xavier Doherty and even Ponting.
"Bring in Phil Hughes for Katich, drop North and Doherty, bring in Steve Smith and Usman Khawaja. Ponting on the way out," @particularkev tweeted.
@tom-cho wrote: "If this doesn't make the selectors drop Marcus North and pick players on their form, what will?"
Referring to Ponting, @DublinKev tweeted: "And there must be serious question marks about Punter's captaincy, he looks bereft of ideas and inspiration now. Time for a change?"
The English meanwhile are making the most of their win, with Daily Mail writer Ian Ladyman tweeting: "Haven't just beaten Aussies here, we have embarrassed them. Remarkable. Utterly uplifting."
Former English captain Michael Vaughan - who had to suffer through countless defeats while playing in Australia - tweeted "Best performance from a England side for years ... Never seen us hammer the Aussies ... Enjoy the day everyone."
By reading through the tweets of the many English fans in Adelaide, the answers were all the same - head to the pub to celebrate.
