Former Pakistan paceman Aaqib Javed has been named as the bowling coach of Pakistan national team for the series against England in the United Arab Emirates which will commence next month.
The Pakistan Cricket Board named a nine-member support staff for the upcoming series on Tuesday, which also included former Pakistan batsman Ijaz Ahmed as the fielding coach, The Daily Times reports.
Mohsin Khan was made the interim head coach following Waqar Younis' voluntary retirement as the coach on health grounds in September.
He led the Pakistan cricket team to comprehensive clean sweeps against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Aaqib has taken up several coaching roles in Pakistan over the decade.
He started his coaching career with Lahore Regional Academy, and also coached Pakistan's under 19 national cricket team, as well as hving a stint as head of National Cricket Academy.
He has linked up with the Pakistan national cricket team many times since 2009.
He had taken up roles of the bowling coach and assistant coach of the national side but was removed before Pakistan's tour to Zimbabwe. He is now a firm favorite to become the bowling coach of the Pakistan national team on a permanent basis.
