Aditya Tare scored an unbeaten 122 as Mumbai piled on 306 for two against on Day One of their Group 'A' Ranji Trophy tie against Saurashtra on Saturday.
Besides Tare, opener Wasim Jaffer and middle-order batsman Rohit Sharma also made significant contributions on 79 and 72 not out respectively.

Winning the toss and electing to bat, the visitors began brilliant with the opening pair of Jaffer and Tare putting on 135 runs for the first wicket before Jaffer departed, caught and bowled by medium pacer Saurya Sanandiya. Jaffer’s knock constituted 11 fours and a six.
Tare then go together with No 3 batsman Ajinkya Rahane. But just as the duo seems set for another big partnership, Rahane fell to off-punner Kamlesh Makvana for 24.
Next man in, Rohit Sharma however ensured, alongwith Tare, that the Saurashtra bowlers would have no more wickets to their name on the day. Tare got 122 off 262 balls (18 fours & one six) while Sharma consumed 110 balls for his knock that included seven fours and three sixes.
