The petitioner in the 2013 Indian Premier League spot-fixing scandal and Cricket Association of Bihar (CAB) secretary Aditya Verma and his lawyer have reached New Delhi and will put across their views before the Supreme Court tomorrow.
"I will request the highest judiciary of the country to take stern action against the BCCI president and other office bearers. The Supreme Court may appoint an administrator to oversee the BCCI. The current office bearers may face an arrest warrant or even a life ban," Verma said. Verma also accused BCCI president Anurag Thakur of maligning the Lodha Committee's image.
"Thakur is not only the President of the BCCI, but is also a Member of Parliament from the ruling party. It is disgraceful that he is consistently trying to insult the Lodha Committee, which has been constituted by the Supreme Court. He (Thakur) is saying that we will lose our image if we cancel the ongoing Test series against New Zealand due to unavailability of funds. But has he understood how he has insulted the Lodha Committee and in doing so, the country's image as well?" Verma said.
