Barcelona defender Gerard Pique is confident his side can bounce back after their 1-0 defeat at Getafe at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez on Saturday. Pep Guardiola's side's first defeat in La Liga this season saw the defending champions fall six points behind rivals Real Madrid in the chase for the title, but Pique is adamant that there is still a lot of time to catch up.

"I'm convinced that the team will give everything they've got to be fighting for the title at the end of the season," said Pique. The Spain international called on the Camp Nou faithful to "trust the team" and added: "The league standings show that (Real) Madrid are doing things a bit better this season and we have to turn this situation around. We are Barca and we'll move forward."

Getafe frustrated their illustrious visitors, grabbing the three points thanks to a second half header from Juan Valera. Meanwhile, Real Madrid maintained their imperious form with a 4-1 derby win over Atletico Madrid.
Adrian Lopez had given Atletico the lead before goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was shown red for a foul on Karim Benzema.
Cristiano Ronaldo coolly slotted in from the subsequent penalty. After the break, Angel di Maria put Real ahead before Gonzalo Higuain added another. Atletico were then reduced to nine men when defender Diego Godin was dismissed for a foul on Higuain in the box and Ronaldo got his second of the match from the penalty spot again.
