The Board of Control for Cricket in India certainly means business in dealing with the ICC World Twenty20 debacle. Their probe with regards to the issues involved in the T20 tournament is not restricted to the alleged altercation between the players and the fans. The BCCI is equally keen to find out all the reasons which resulted in the poor performance of the team in the tournament.
The Board is trying to find out whether the team's performance was affected because of the lackadaisical attitude of the players. Were they tired after playing the Indian Premier League? And whether any of the players were hiding injuries before the event.
As for the ugly spat between the cricketers and the fans, the Board feels the players had no business to react whatever be the provocation. Swallowing the fans' criticism is also a part and parcel of the modern game and the players have to learn to deal with it.
