The third seed dropped the first set but roared back to win the second, only for the Spaniard to dig deep to secure an impressive 7-6 (7-5), 1-6, 7-5 triumph.
"I played a very good first set, the second was not so good, but I played very well in the third," Suarez Navarro said. "She's a very good player," said the Russian.
