Autonomy will come out of a long hiatus of 154 days to begin his Classic campaign, and Dancing Dynamite, runner-up of the Nanoli Stud Pune Derby, will take guard at the Mahalaxmi racetrack in the MiD DAY Trophy, a seven-furlong affair for class II horses.
The race named after your favourite publication will be run at 4 pm on Sunday at the Mahalaxmi racetrack, as part of a bumper 11-race card, and six runners will face the starter including Autonomy and Dancing Dynamite, the prime contenders. Camps of both the Classic aspirants are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that their horses put their best foot forward in the MiD DAY Trophy.
Bezan Chenoy, trainer of Autonomy, told MiD DAY that English saddle artist Richard Hughes is being specially flown in to ride Autonomy on Sunday, while V N Babu, the Hyderabad-based owner of Dancing Dynamite, informed MiD DAY over the phone that the rider would be decided this morning.
