With almost two months of non-stop T20 action, the fans often feel the excitement dropping in the middle of the league games. The tournament once again picks up pace as it approaches the business end.
Over the years, there have been various suggestions like dividing the tournament into two halves or reducing the number of matches.
However, former India skipper Rahul Dravid does not think any of the above suggestions would work. "Dividing the tournament into two halves is not possible practically. It is difficult to make these international players available," Dravid told mid-day yesterday.
While speaking at the press conference at the Cricket Club of India earlier, the Rajasthan Royals mentor was not keen on tinkering with the current format.
"It is a pretty good format. It's a tough competition. It goes over a period of six to seven weeks. Generally, I believe that 14 games is sort of good enough to pick the top four teams.
It gives a fair enough opportunity, (playing) home and away. I think anything more than this will become quite a lot," said Dravid.
