Bengal's Manoj Tiwary scored a fluent 267 against Madhya Pradesh while Ashok Menaria of Rajasthan smashed 230 against Railways yesterday.

Menaria posted a double while Robin Bist hit 167 to help holders Rajasthan make a strong statement and declare their first innings on 521 for eight on the second day. At close, Railways were 32 for one with Shivakant Shukla unbeaten on 17 and Shreyas Khanolkar (6) giving him company.
However, Bengal captain Tiwary's 267 helped his team reach 496 despite a lower middle-order collapse. Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly made 47 while opener Arindam Das scored 105. At close of play, Madhya Pradesh were 136 for one losing the wicket of Jalaj Saxena (46). The two unbeaten batsmen were Naman Ojha (60) and Mohnish Mishra (20).
