India's bowling coach Eric Simmons said yesterday that the absence of new-ball bowler Praveen Kumar was a major setback, but was confident that others could do the job. "Praveen opening the bowling was a big advantage for us. But we can't keep thinking about someone who is not in the side. There are others who will definitely do the job," Simmons told MiD DAY.

Kumar, who was replaced in the squad after failing to recover from an elbow injury, is undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy here.

"I met him (Kumar). His fitness programme is on. His recovery will take time," said the South African. Bowling has been a major concern for Team India. "We are working on it. Very soon, things will be fine," he added.

Simmons was guarded when asked about Ashish Nehra's availability for the upcoming group matches against the Netherlands and South Africa.

"Hopefully he will play very soon. He is recovering fast," he signed off.
